About our Program The Florida Association of Crime Stoppers (FACS) is a private, not for profit organization that provides networking and support for Crime Stoppers programs throughout the state of FACS was founded in 1981 as a networking organization for a few, fledgling Crime Stoppers organizations such as Central Florida Crime Line and the Crime Stoppers Council of Broward County. Today, the Florida Association of Crime Stoppers, a not for profit organization, represents twenty-eight Crime Stoppers programs throughout the state of In 1998, the FACS organization spearheaded the creation of the Crime Stoppers Trust Fund, which is funded by surcharges on criminal case fines. The Crime Stoppers Trust Fund, which on average collects approximately five million dollars annually, provides the much needed funding for individual Crime Stoppers programs through a grant program that is overseen by the Office of the Attorney General.
